Dr. Ian Cicco

Bio
Dr. Cicco is the Nina Bell Suggs Endowed Professor of Music Education at 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, where he was also awarded the Junior Faculty Outstanding Teaching Award. He completed his PhD in music education with a minor in voice at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Prior to academia, he taught in P–12 schools in Southwest Florida with an emphasis in elementary general music. He has presented research at AERA, SMTE, Mountain Lake, Visions of Research in Music Education, BTAA, the Oxford Symposium on the History of Music Education, Desert Skies, and APME. His work appears in the Journal of Research in Music Education, Action, Criticism, and Theory for Music Education, Journal of Historical Research in Music Education, Visions of Research in Music Education, and The Orff Echo. Dr. Cicco serves on The Orff Echo editorial board and as Vice President for the Mississippi Orff Chapter #100.
