The Mississippi Early Childhood Inclusion Center
Our Mission:
MECIC collaborates with families, early childhood professionals and communities to support the inclusion of young children with disabilities through professional development, classroom support, resource provision and advocacy. MECIC is grounded in data driven decision making that promotes high-quality early childhood inclusion within Mississippi鈥檚 Quality Support System.
Our Vision:
MECIC envisions an early childhood system where children with and without disabilities thrive in high-quality, early learning environments. MECIC fosters partnerships with families, early childhood professionals and communities so that every child reaches their full potential.
MECIC offers a comprehensive early childhood inclusion and social-emotional credential for early childhood educators. MECIC offers on-site support for early childhood programs serving children with disabilities. MECIC utilizes practice-based coaching with implementation of high-quality, inclusive practices. Contact the MECIC at 601.266.4745 to request on-site assistance as needed to ensure success for all children.
MECIC offers developmental screening and autism-specific screening for children under six. Opportunities for screenings are available at state-wide and regional screening days or by parent request. To schedule a screening for your child, contact MECIC at 601.266.4745.
MS LIFT Resource and Referral (R&R) Network at MECIC houses interactive playrooms
and lending libraries to meet the needs of early childhood educators, families and
